About Us
Cafe Angelique was born in the spring of 2002 relieving Manhattan of a void in the cafe business. There were no coffee shops in downtown New York City that housed the service, quality and ambience New Yorkers deserved. In the development of Cafe Angelique I did not want to reinvent the wheel, just make it better. A long list of happy regulars (some who pop in two, three, even four times a day) will say with a smile "that’s just what I needed".
My entire approach to the coffee business is different, it’s refined. Coffee is a culture. It’s a ritual for many people and from grinding to serving I can ensure Cafe Angelique provides the most enriching experience possible. The taste and appearance of each and every espresso, latte and cappuccino is served with attention to detail. Coffee is an art and the baristas are the top of their field from steaming perfect milk to creating beautiful designs with the coffee.
Taste and art combine to form a moment of pure satisfaction served in wonderful ceramic mugs for the finest experience. Cafe Angelique has flourished on the same block where several coffee chains operate. My cafe, however, does not sit in the shadows of corporate coffee giants. It’s an entirely different experience that delivers to customers the taste they deserve.
In addition to coffee, we have a line of delectable food items including sandwiches, soups, salads and quiches. Not to mention a decadent array of pastries and deserts. The sandwiches at Cafe Angelique are prepared with breads from the finest New York French bakeries and made with the freshest ingredients. The idea has been to serve quality down to the last seasoning.
Cafe Angelique also offers a variety of succulent cakes and pastries ranging from morning items like muffins and scones to evening deserts like rich chocolate mousse, red velvet cake and a new line of stuffed cupcakes that are to die for. Catering and delivery is also available. The clientele include renowned fashion designer Valentin , Donna Karan, Scoop stores, Atrium, celebrities, local professionals and our own wonderful regulars.
